I love soft, barely-there eyeshadow looks, using makeup to enhance rather than to cover. The Too Faced Naked Eye palette has enough dark shades to provide definition, but is mostly comprised of neutral, easy-to-wear colors.
Too Faced promises this palette will help achieve a “born perfect” look, using naturally nude shadows to create super neutral, but gorgeous looks. This palette features their richly pigmented shadows that blend easily to achieve an airbrushed effect. The 9 shades in this palette are just naked enough ;)
The Naked Eye palette is housed in a sturdy cardboard exterior with a magnetic fold-over closure. The inside of the lid of the palette has a pouch containing three cards with instructions and diagrams showing how to put together each of three looks. The bottom of the palette holds 9 eyeshadows divided into three rows, each paired to give a specific look: day, classic, and fashion.
- In the Buff, also in the Boudoir Eyes palette, is a very light creamy, off-white, matte highlight color.

- Satin Sheets, also in the Boudoir Eyes palette, is a duo tone satin shimmer that looks pink in the shade and shimmers gold in the light.
- Unmentionables is a medium-tone soft grey shimmer.
- Pink Cheeks is a sheer, shimmery pink-taupe shade.
- Lap Dance, also in the Boudoir Eyes palette, is a medium tone plum-taupe shimmer.

This is one of my favorite go-to palettes for everyday looks – it contains several shadows that are all time favorites of mine, like Satin Sheets, which I haven’t been able to dupe yet. It’s has a gorgeous golden pink shift that doesn’t look quite like any other eyeshadow I’ve seen. Birthday Suit is another favorite: it’s a perfect highlight shade, providing just a bit of a sheen and melting into the skin, not leaving behind any powdery look or a highlight that looks unnatural or too stark.
All 9 shadows are very blendable and easy to work with, though Lap Dance and Satin Sheets probably have the most buttery texture. The matte shades: In the Buff, Like a Virgin, and Stiletto are a little more difficult to blend, but that’s characteristic of nearly all matte shadows.
The sheer shades have less color payoff than the others, but that’s because they’re supposed to, they’re soft enough to look natural, but pigmented enough to leave a sheer wash of color. Unmentionables and Stiletto are dark and pigmented enough to function alone as eyeliners or to set a cream, pencil, or gel eyeliner.
Although the palette is susceptible to water damage, it’s great at protecting the shadows otherwise. I’ve dropped this and other Too Faced cardboard palettes several times and not broken any shadows. Cardboard is softer than plastic and metal exteriors most palettes have so it absorbs more impact when dropped. I’ve never had a problems with water damage to this or any of my palettes, but I don’t typically do my makeup over my bathroom sink. Functionality aside, the design of this palette is adorable, like almost all Too Faced products.
This is a great palette. If you like neutral, easy looks that are appropriate for daytime or wearing to work, but want the versatility you get with a few deep shades that can add some depth and smokiness for an evening look or double as liners, this palette is for you. The three large pans are 2 g each and the six small pans are .9 g each for a total of 11.4 g of product, which is a decent amount of product for $36.
