Nail of the Day: Usually I really like the Revlon Colorstay formula, but this time I had some trouble getting the polish to apply without bubbles. I used the Revlon Colorstay Basecoat and Topcoat; none of the three bottles had been shaken. I think it probably just needed some thinner, but oh well. Aside from the bubbles, the formula applied smoothly and easily built up to full opacity in just two coats. This color came off darker than I thought it would. I expected a medium-dark cool purple, but on the nails it looks like a very deep sangria, berry, merlot type color. It’s a gorgeous, creamy shade that doesn’t contain any shimmer or sparkle at all. I highly recommend it as long as you’re okay wearing such a dark color on your nails, which I’m always up for, especially when winter is still in full force.
