March Favorites

March Favorites20This month some of my favorites are products I’ve loved for years, but several are new discoveries, particularly drugstore products I’ve only been using for a few months that really work well.

March Favorites19Neutrogena pure & free liquid daily sunblock – Because I’m rather fair skinned, I have to be careful about sun exposure. Neutrogena’s sunbock layers well with moisturizer, primer, foundation, and powder without getting caking up.
$12.49 at Walgreens,; $12.99 at Ulta

March Favorites18Tarte BB tinted treatment 12-hour primer – I don’t usually use a primer beneath my foundation, but Tarte’s new bb tinted primer has me getting into the habit. It adds a bit of coverage, makes my foundation last longer and apply more smoothly and has an SPF for when I don’t want to wear a separate sunblock. *see my full review here*
$34 at Ulta, Sephora,

March Favorites17Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup – Urban Decay created an awesome foundation; it has buildable coverage, a lightweight feel, and a natural finish that is neither dewy or matte. *see my full review here*
$39 at Ulta, Sephora,

March Favorites16Urban Decay Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush – Urban Decay created this brush especially for use with Naked Skin foundation. It does an amazing job of evenly smoothing the foundation while still being dense enough to work the foundation into your skin. I love it so much I use it with almost all of my foundations.
$25 at Ulta, Sephora,

March Favorites15Neutrogena 3-in-1 Concealer for eyes – I only just started using this concealer in the last couple months and I love it except for one thing – the smell. It has an extremely strong perfume-type fragrance. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem to irritate my eyes, but it is unpleasant. Aside from that, it has great coverage, doesn’t crease, and has great lasting power.
$6.99 at; $8.26 at Walmart; $8.29 at Target; $9.99 at Ulta; $10.49 at Walgreens; $10.99 at CVS

March Favorites14NYX stay matte but not flat powder foundation – Lots of people have raved about this powder for a long time, but I’ve only just started using it and I love it. Used lightly, it sets my foundation without adding any additional weight or cakiness, applied more heavily it can really give any foundation full coverage.
$9.49 at Ulta; $9.50 at

March Favorites13Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink – Baked products can be applied wet or dry, which is great for a blush. It’s like having two products in one instead of having a separate cream blush available. Dolce Pink is a great flushed pink color that looks like the natural flush you have when you come in from being out in the cold.
$6.99 at Target; $8.29 at Walgreens; $8.99 at CVS

March Favorites12Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight – Too Faced makes awesome eye primers that prevent creasing and fading, help make eyeshadows more vivid and make sure your eye makeup stays in place all day. Candlelight does all of that plus adds a pretty shimmer, which I especially love using beneath matte shadows to achieve a bit of an overall satin finish.
$20 at Ulta, Sephora,

March Favorites11Hard Candy Baked Eyeshadow Duos in Peace, Secret Rendezvous, and High Maintenance – All three of these duos include a lighter eyelid/highlight shade and a deeper crease shade and are neutral colors. They’re quick, easy, wearable, and affordable, all my favorite things.
$6 at Walmart

March Favorites10Urban Decay Naked Palette – Naked is a classic. The shadows are all great Urban Decay quality; it’s versatile, easy to use, and convenient for travel – a must have. *see my full review here*
$50 at Ulta, Sephora,

March Favorites9Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray – Even if I’m not pulling an all nighter, I want my makeup to last. All Nighter fixes any powdery look my makeup may have, leaves a natural finish and helps all my makeup stay put without fading or smudging. *featured here in my Daytime Neutrals Face of the Day*
$29 at Ulta, Sephora,

March Favorites8Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Sticks – I’ve had all eight shades in my makeup bag every day this month and I couldn’t pick just a couple favorites because I’ve been wearing all of them, partially to try them out, but also because they’re all the same great formula and each color is really wearable and versatile. Sometimes I’ll start my day with one color and toss a second in my purse for when I reapply. *see my full review here*
$6.99 at Walgreens; $7.99 at Target; $8.99 at Ulta

March Favorites7Butter London Horse Power – This basecoat rocks. It creates a smooth base for my polish, dries quickly, and helps improve my problem nails.
$19 at Ulta

March Favorites6Butter London Sprog – Technically it’s spring, but it’s still been pretty overcast and dreary. Sprog is a perfect spring pastel that’s still a bit dusty and muted. *see my Nail of the Day post here*
$15 at Ulta

March Favorites5Butter London Hardwear Topcoat – Hardwear is the best topcoat ever. It dries quickly, but doesn’t leave any brush marks, creates a chip free finish, and has amazing shine.
$19 at Ulta

March Favorites4Butter London Handbag Holiday – I’m constantly battling dry, fussy cuticles. Handbag Holiday fits conveniently in my purse and unlike many other cuticle oils, has a nail polish type applicator. It also absorbs quickly and doesn’t make a mess since application is so neat and easy.
$19 at Ulta

March Favorites3Tweezerman Slant Tweezers – It’s true, you’ll never need another pair of tweezers. These live in my makeup bag.
$22 at Ulta

March Favorites2Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Eau de Parfum – Especially for evenings and in cooler months, Very Sexy has a perfect warm, sexy scent that isn’t topped off with a baby powder smell. I’ve been using it for at least ten years and I love it.
$42-$62 at Victoria’s Secret

March Favorites1Organic Virgin Coconut Oil – Coconut oil has really become my everything product. It’s great for cooking, smells incredible, makes an amazing deep conditioning treatment, lip balm, moisturizer, and the most incredible makeup remover ever. I don’t have to fight to get even waterproof eye makeup off. I just gently rub it over my face, eyes, and lashes, giving it some time to break down all my makeup, then either wipe or rinse most of it away and cleanse like usual. If I’m wearing a lot of eye makeup, I’ll swirl a cotton swab in the coconut oil and use it to wipe away eyeliner and mascara. Because it’s an oil, it won’t completely wipe or rinse away, but that’s not a bad thing. After you cleanse, your skin doesn’t feel stripped. Not all oils are bad and not all are created equal. Coconut oil is an amazing product even if you have oily skin, just use it sparingly, a little goes a very long way. Also, Trader Joe’s uses a very simple process for extracting coconut oil, their suppliers don’t use any heat or chemical processing and it’s organic, for an extremely reasonable price!
$5.99 at Trader Joe’s
