Too Faced recently released Boudoir Beauty, their spring 2013 collection, a beautiful combination of pretty and sexy. Part of that line is their Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow, which seems to be a great compliment to the Boudoir Eyes Soft & Sexy Eyeshadow Collection I’m already in love with. *click here to see my full review*
The Boudoir Beauty Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush comes in a heart-shaped cardboard box with a heart shaped pan of three baked blushes inside: a shimmery rose shade, a satin-finish coral, and a shimmery peach shade. Too Faced describes their blush as having been developed with easy application and a no-fail color palette in mind, which should take the guesswork out of creating a sweet, romantic flush. They’ve dubbed Candy Glow the little black dress of blushes. Three perfect swatches allow you to easily swirl the colors together and apply or use more of one shade for a custom flush or highlight.

First, the packaging, in true Too Faced fashion, is absolutely adorable, it’s cute, pretty, just a little sexy and always feminine, from the outer box to the actual product’s packaging. Too Faced has shown wonderful taste and an incredible attention to detail. I’m sure this is one item I’ll be keeping long after the product is gone, the thought of which makes me sad because it’s such a lovely product.
When I dip my brush in, the product becomes powdery in the pan, which is characteristic of most baked products, but isn’t a problem at all. I love the texture of this blush; it doesn’t apply chalky or powdery at all. It feels like it melts right into your skin for a lit-from-within glow. I’ve also found that I don’t need to use a highlight with this blush because it catches the light perfectly.
All three of these shades are feminine, pretty colors and when applied together they give a luminous, but definitely not glittery, glow to the cheeks – perfect for a crisp, bright spring day. It’s a sweet, romantic look that doesn’t feel like it’s crossed into My Little Pony girly territory.
The weather is still a bit gloomy so I prefer to rock darker blush shades, but this blush is so pretty I can’t help myself. I wear it every time the weather is bright enough for me to break out my spring colors.
Because the blush is baked, it has a wonderful buildable quality, which also means that if I dip my brush in the pan and swirl it over my cheek, I’m not going to be horrified by having an insane amount of product on my face. This little tragedy has happened with other blush products when I didn’t understand just how absurdly pigmented they were. I like for a blush to be well pigmented, but not as pigmented as an eyeshadow – that’s just too much. I don’t want to have to worry about being super careful and tapping off extra product from my brush. Too Faced has given me the perfect middle ground and I love them for it.
Again, Too Faced has produced an absolute winner of a product. I love this blush. It’s pretty on fair skin, but has a texture so soft and wonderful it would illuminate deeper skin tones beautifully too. At $29 for 5.5 grams of product, the price is in line with other high-end blushes.
