Wet n Wild Color Icon eyeshadows are some of the best, at any price. I wish they offered even more of a selection, but at least the selection they do offer is great. The Eyeshadow Trios are my favorite of all the Wet n Wild eyeshadows. They have it all: great quality, convenient packaging, and well thought out color arrangements. Some of the trios are designed to be colorful and fun, while others are more neutral, perfect for everyday use. One of the best trios for a bright, nude, everyday look is Walking on Eggshells, which contains three eyeshadow pans appropriately labeled eyelid, crease, and browbone. And, it just so happens, all three are perfect dupes of MAC shadows.
The eyelid shade in this palette is a beautiful shimmery, frosty, warm, peachy nude color. It really adds a nice brightness to the eyes while still being neutral and appropriate for any occasion. This one is also a great dupe for one of the most popular MAC eyeshadows, naked lunch. Like all the shadows in this trio it feels velvety and soft, almost creamy even though it’s a powder. It smooths on nicely and blends beautifully.*
The darkest shade in this trio isn’t very dark at all. The crease shade can be applied lightly or built up a little to add some contour to the crease and the area above. Although this shadow has a little bit of a satin finish, it’s subtle enough to still work well in the crease area. It also blends out beautifully and is a dupe of the MAC eyeshadow cork.*
The lightest shade in the palette, aptly called the browbone shade, is a beautiful satin shimmery nude color. It’s perfect for highlighting just under the brow, around the inner corner, and if used lightly, just about anywhere like the cupid’s bow area, down the bridge of the nose, or along the top of the cheekbones. It’s also a dead on dupe for the MAC eyeshadow shroom.*
Although the packaging for the Color Icon Trios isn’t the most attractive, it is sturdy and slim, there’s no extra bulk. The clear lid allows you to easily see what colors are inside, which is convenient. It’s basic and practical. The mini applicator and brush included aren’t the best tools for applying shadow, but they get the job done, which makes these little compacts great for travel and purse-friendly.
