February Favorites

February Favorites18Usually, at any given time, I have a list of a couple dozen favorites, but this month, I actually really had to think about which products I’ve been reaching for most. Below is a list of some of my favorites for the month, products I’ve relied on to cover, color, accentuate, emphasize, smooth, and… flavor. Enjoy!February Favorites17

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin – For years I’ve used the combination/oily skin formula, so I thought the dry skin formula would just slide right off my face, but nope; it stays put and looks hydrated and natural, without shine from the time I apply it until the time I remove it. Also, because it melts into my skin so well, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. I’m in love. The old faithful of foundations has become a new favorite!
$9.99 at Target, $12.99 at Walgreens, $13.49 at CVSFebruary Favorites16

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder – This powder is awesome. It has just a little coverage, which is perfect for smoothing out and perfecting whatever foundation and concealer have been applied beneath. It’s smooth, not the least bit cakey, and the finish is a gorgeous matte, but not too matte, natural looking finish. *see my full review here*
$9.99 at Walgreens, CVS, Ulta, $7.49 at TargetFebruary Favorites15

Urban Decay De Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray – I love using this setting spray in conjunction with the dry skin Colorstay formula. It helps keep oil at bay to prevent any shine that may come through if I have a particularly long day and sets my entire face of makeup, keeping it in place all day and making sure there’s no powdery look.
$29 at Ulta, Sephora, urbandecay.comFebruary Favorites14

NARS Highlighting Blush in Albatross – A soft linen colored satin powder with subtle golden shimmer creates the perfect glowy highlight, even on my fair skin. It applies smoothly and the shimmer is soft and fine, not chunky glitter. Perfection.
$29 at Sephora, narscosmetics.comFebruary Favorites13

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters – The lot of ‘em! Yep, I love them all. Although, my favorites right now are Creme Brulee and Peach Parfait mixed together. They create a soft, nude, peach color with just a hint of shimmer, which is perfect when paired with a smoky eye. *see this combination featured in my face of the day here*
$7.99 at Walgreens, Ulta, $6.49 at Target, WalmartFebruary Favorites12

Tarte Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler – Tarte has created a curler that actually curls without crimping! What’s best is it doesn’t feel cheap – it feels firm and sturdy and the pad is really cushy.
$16 at Ulta, Sephora, tartecosmetics.comFebruary Favorites11

Blinc Mascara – Blinc Mascara is different. It’s a cool polymer material that applies wet, but dries to form little tubes around each of your lashes. It doesn’t smudge. You can cry, swim, sweat, whatever, and it stays put, without fail. To remove, I just hold warm water over my eyes until the product softens, then gently rub down my lashes and the little tubes slide right off. The only downside is the brush. I really love HUGE bristley brushes like Diorshow *featured here in my January Favorites*. This brush is smaller and doesn’t give me as much volume or length. It also tends to undo a little of my curl right when I apply it, maybe it’s a heavier product. Those downsides are completely outweighed by the smudge-free factor for me though.
$26 at SephoraFebruary Favorites10

Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trios – I have all of the Wet n Wild Trios and while they’re all nice, a few of them are definite favorites of mine. Particularly Walking on Eggshells *see my Bargain Beauty review here* and Silent Treatment *see my Bargain Beauty review here*. These shadows are wonderfully pigmented, smooth, blendable, and I love the color arrangements.
$2.99 at Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, WalmartFebruary Favorites9

Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection – The Too Faced Naked Eye palette was my favorite… until Boudoir Eyes came along. I love this palette, love love love. It’s versatile, user friendly, and compact. The shadows are smooth, blendable, and pigmented. What I love most of all is that the colors included are a great combination of matte, satin, and shimmer and a perfect range of colors for creating soft, sexy looks, dramatic smoky looks, and barely there nude looks. *see my full review with swatches here*
$36 at Ulta, Sephora, toofaced.comFebruary Favorites8

NARS Eyeshadow Single in Coconut Grove – Even though it’s an eyeshadow, I love Coconut Grove for filling in my brows using an angled eyeliner brush. This color is dark enough, but isn’t black, which is almost always a no-no for eyebrows. It blends and smooths into the hairs nicely and doesn’t fade throughout the day.
$24 Sephora, narscosmetics.comFebruary Favorites7

London SoHo New York Beauty Sponge – I’ve tried several makeup blending sponges. Most were meh, but the London SoHo one that I picked up on a whim at Ulta has actually been quite impressive. It’s soft, easy to hold, and beautifully blends cream makeup products.
$7.99 at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, TargetFebruary Favorites6

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Weightless Healing Dry Oil – For my fine hair, this oil does a great job of hydrating my ends and keeping frizz at bay. I prefer to spray it in my palms then finger comb it through my hair while it’s still wet, especially before blow drying. I also like to spray it in my palms and smooth it over the surface of my hair after it’s dry.
$7.99 at Ulta, $7.79 at Walgreens, $8.29 at CVSFebruary Favorites5

Mary Kay Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover – Even waterproof mascara and eyeliner come right off with this remover. I put it on a cotton swab and gently rub it down my eyelashes and over my lash line until everything is gone. There’s minimal tugging and irritation and it never stings or burns my eyes.
$15 Mary KayFebruary Favorites4

Olay 2-in-1 Daily Facial Cloths – After I use eye makeup remover and cotton swabs to remove my eye makeup, I use these cloths to remove the rest of my makeup. I usually follow with a cleanser, but if I don’t, these usually do the trick.
$5.94 at Ulta, $6.97 at Walmart, $6.99 at Target, $6.39 at WalgreensFebruary Favorites3

Orly Bonder Basecoat – Orly’s quick drying, rubberized basecoat does a great job of extending my manicure’s life by several days, keeping it chip free and minimizing tip wear. It also helps to prevent nail polish stains.
$7.99 at Sally Beauty, $10 at UltaFebruary Favorites2

Orly Polishield 3-in-1 Topcoat – When I’m choosing a topcoat, I want something quick drying that also leaves my manicure smooth and glossy and prevents chipping and fading. Check, check, and check. Polishield does it all.
$7.99 at Sally Beauty, $10 at UltaFebruary Favorites1

Trader Joe’s Soy Milk Creamer – Since I’ve been trying to have less dairy and clean up my eating habits, I switched to Soy Milk Creamer. It only has 15 calories in each 1 tablespoon serving and is completely vegan and made with organic soy milk. Oh, and it tastes great. Healthy is beautiful and I love this healthier option.
$1.49 per pint at Trader Joe’s
