Nail of the Day: I’m a huge fan of Butter London nail polish. Their polishes have an amazing finish, great staying power, and their base coats and top coats are great. My nails have been having some problems lately so instead of their matte-finish Nail Foundation Flawless Base Coat, I used their strengthening Horse Power Nail Fertilizer, which does an excellent job of preventing my nails from chipping, splitting, peeling, and cracking. Bluey is a gorgeous deep, shimmery blue color. It leans a little towards the green spectrum as opposed to purple and has the tiniest flecks of green micro-glitter in it. Two coats provided great, opaque, smooth, streak free coverage. The Hardware top coat does a great job of leaving a glossy finish, preventing the color from fading and making my manicure last a week without chipping.
At $14 each for the nail lacquers and $18 each for the base coats and top coats, Butter London is among the pricier brands, but all their products are free of DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde and they have great quality.
